What Does It Mean To Be An Early Childhood Professional

Early Childhood Education is vitally importance to the overall growth and development of young children.  Research shows that children birth to 5 who are enrolled in a quality early childhood setting have later school success.  They are better prepared socially & emotionally, as well as, cognitively. The  training and professional development of the educators who work with young children is important.  We require training to ensure that we are assisting children with  developing skills that are appropriate for their age as well as their level of development.  Children aren't just minature adults; they learn through play and they love routines that help support them as they play and interact.
The individuals that you see attending the conference are all loving, nurturing educators who take pride in the fact that they help to shape and mold young lives.  The profession is important and is necessary for children to not only have success in school, but success in life.  The fundamental skills are learned early in life.  So, what you perceive as babysitting is really the shaping and molding of our future.
